What’s Wrong With Tollywood And Fans

Being a Telugu, I know the kind of passion and affection we have for cinema. And if it is a film with a big hero, the tempo is also high. But there is a fine line between showing admiration and obsession towards films. They are a form of entertainment and those who are part of it treat it like their job, it is no longer a form of art. Anyways, there seems to be some major trash happening in Tollywood right now, especially with the fans.

The reason I say this is after going through an ad in a newspaper. The essence of that ad means if ‘Magadheera’ is proven that it is not number one grosser so far, Mega fans will give Rs 2 crores. And this ad is published by the fans of Ramcharan. This is totally absurd. I mean, why this mess? I know that though it is not a thing for common man, a lot of discussions are happening on this and our folks have been catering so much time for useless things.

Who is responsible for this? I once remember Allu Sirish tweeting that ‘Magadheera’s share was Rs 57 crores. And with the ‘Dookudu’ team coming up with big figures, I will not be surprised that an announcement can come for 100 days function that ‘Magadheera’ is nowhere near ‘Dookudu’. My point is, why this fight? Is no one responsible enough to intervene and sort out the fan frenzy? Why not Sirish and producers of ‘Dookudu’ sit and discuss in front of media?

Of course, no would want to reveal certain things but looking at the way things are going, it is time for the official sources to reveal few facts. I am sure a transparency element will be there in their collections, without that business will not happen. Why are they beating around the bush? One thing is clear that one of the versions is fake. It is better to put full stop to these arguments. When fans are fighting like this why is MAA silent? Don’t they have a moral responsibility? When fans go out of control and aggravate situations, it is time for someone from the industry to intervene and diffuse it. But looks like no one is bothered.
