Television stars striking it big in Hollywood stories have now found another name to add to their list with the strong willed yet demure looking Katie Holmes. Following a rather silent yet strategically stronger route to moviedom success, Katie Holmes rose to fame though her sheer talent attitude and knack for hard work. Born on December 18, 1978, in Toledo, Ohio as the youngest child of Martin Holmes, lawyer by profession and Homemaker mother Kathleen, she was named Kate Noelle Holmes. Inheriting her mother’s good looks and tall height, she was still more of a tomboy than a graceful child, a matter which later became a cause of concern to her parents and which led her attending the nun-run Notre Dame Academy, a Catholic all-girls high school.
With lessons in piano and singing since early, Katie soon found her bearings in the theatrical productions by the school and upon seeing her growth, teachers and later friends suggested her to enroll into Margaret O'Brien's Modeling School in Toledo. All this one was done in preparation of international Modeling and Talent Association's Hooray For Hollywood convention in New York City where she was asked to dance, sing and even recite a monologue from To Kill A Mockingbird
